July Fast

ROCK CHURCH JULY 2013 FASTING

Fasting Focus: In the spirit of a “Daniel Fast”, fast one meal each day by eating only fruits, vegetables and
drinking water.

Prayer Focus: Continue to pray for Catalyst, Circle, and Rock Church, especially the banking process.

Personal Focus: Always speak positive, give positive advice/responses, and do not listen to negative gossip.

And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.
Psalm 35:28

A “Daniel Fast”

  • is to eat only fruits and vegetable, and drink water. It does not include bread of any type, no pasta, and no meat. Daniel 10:2-3
  • Fasting doesn’t just pertain to what you put in your stomach, but what you feed your soul and spirit as well. Closeness with the Lord should be your goal, and fasting is the method to reach your goal. To keep a “clean vessel” you should refrain from critical speaking, and spreading negative words about or to anyone else. Also, consider limiting how much you watch TV, and how much time you spend on things that are distracting. Have your favorite worship music available and spend time worshiping often.

Whenever you choose to do or say what is right, you influence others.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. James 1:26

Always be slow to speak and quick to listen!! So, since we are fasting for 365 days, we should speak no negative words for 365 days. How can you minister to someone God sends across your path if you are not praying, speaking God’s Word, or fasting.
This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29

What you desire to do on the outside reflects what is going on in the heart.

For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:10-12

The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. Proverbs 10:31-32

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. Proverbs 15:4

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from trouble. Proverbs 21:23

ONE PERSON FASTING IS POWERFUL, BUT WHEN A GROUP OF PEOPLE BEGIN TO FAST, IT IS MULTIPLIED STRENGTH! IT IS MULTIPLIED POWER!
