Greetings Rock Church,
I’m so humble and grateful for the amazing opportunity to serve as your Senior Pastor. WOW! God is truly doing a New Thing.
I’ve been in prayer and fasting this past week for a number of things that I’m asking God to lead and direct me as I’m called to lead His Church. I’ve been seeking His heart and it’s been so good going after His heart on all matters of His Church. God has led me to Isaiah 42:9. “See, the former things have taken place and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”
Pertaining to Rock Church’s future, God has given me “New Hope, New Opportunity, A New Thing“. After spending some awesome time in prayer and fasting, what God has revealed is that we ALL need to be people of faith, yes it takes people of faith to believe in this new thing God wants to do in and through you! I know we all desire to please God. That’s why faith is absolutely necessary. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
In 12:1-2, the writer of Hebrews goes on to exhort his readers to fix their “eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” From His throne the power of His Spirit our Lord Jesus calls each of us to follow Him by faith.” “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)
Rock Church, the life Jesus desires from us is a life that consistently follows by faith abiding in Him and letting His word abide in us. So for us to live out the New Hope, New Opportunity, A New Thing, we must be committed to dying to ourselves and living unto Him, forgetting what lives behind and pressing on to what lies ahead which is “New Hope, New Opportunity, A New Thing“.
